Mary Kate and Ashley’s THE ROW to present at NY Fashion Week

19 Jan

I LOVE Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. Maybe it has something to do with my total obsession with Full House as a child, or more likely the fact that I’m so inspired by their innovative, outside-the-box style. Through many “worst-dressed” lists I’ve stood by them – a loyal fan ’til the end.

I mean, seriously, how many times have you seen a photo of MK/A and asked yourself “Who wears that (and why can’t I)?”?

Now that I have professed my love for these tiny twins, we can move on to the news. Mary Kate and Ashley’s line, The Row, will be presenting for the first time at New York Fashion Week next month! The venue and date have not yet been announced, however we do know that they’ll be showing their Fall 2010 collection to NY’s finest fashionistas between February 11th and 18th.

Drink up, ladies – It’s time to celebrate!

A few of my faves from Milan: Men’s Fashion Week 2010

18 Jan

Though Men’s Fashion Week (Fall 2010) has only just begun, there are already a number of looks I’m completely drawn to. As a huge fan of bundling up in layers-galore, Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Prada, Ferragamo, and others did not disappoint. Aside from a few overly-feminine looks (inevitable in the world of fashion), I’m almost convinced that I’d rather skip Summer altogether and embrace the cold weather just to see these designs come to life!

Just two days in and I’m already finding myself pleasantly overwhelmed. Can’t wait to see what’s in store!

A Closer Look at Model, Sasha Pivovarova

11 Jan

I find Sasha Pivovarova’s work to be so inspiring. Her versatile look allows her to transform from girl next door to sex kitten in what looks like a simple wardrobe change. This makes for all kinds of fun when it comes to fashion!

From the innocently flirty face of H&M, to this sultry cigarette-smoking vixen – Sasha’s got muse written all over her!

Napa Valley Winter Escape!

10 Jan

Just before the holidays my boyfriend, Blake, and I headed north for the weekend to the beautiful Napa Valley. There are few things I love as much as clothes and shoes, and good wine happens to be one of them. We frolicked through Yountville (the adorable town where Bardessono, the hotel we stayed in, is located) and hit a number of boutique wineries throughout the day.

It was raining the whole time, but this only added to the cozy winter feeling that makes this time of year so special. There was no shortage of red wine consumption, and culinary delights! Cannot wait to go back.

To Clog or Not to Clog?

7 Jan

When Chanel’s SS 2010 collection featured clogs galore, I must admit I was skeptical. Lets face it – clogs are old school. But, wait, are they really?

Karl Lagerfeld took the concept of this silly little dancing shoe and turned it to something fashion-forward and elevated (no real surprise there).

So an exception was made. While I by no means became a fan of the clog, I tend to be on board with all things Chanel.

And now Vera Wang has forced me to question my stance yet again with these to-die-for Daisy Platform Clogs. Not only are they way closer to my price range, but I think I may actually prefer them to Lagerfeld’s design (is that a sin to say?).

So, now I’m at a loss – to clog or not to clog? Only time will tell!
