Knotty girl

15 Jun

There are more motels than I can count on one hand within 5 square blocks of our house. Isn’t that weird? One of which even had the tremendous honor of being named the #1 Dirtiest Hotel in America. These photos were taken at one of the less roachy-looking lodging options just down the street. Sort of charming in a gritty kind of way if you ask me.

Been debating whether or not to keep these shoes after picking them up at the Nordstrom sale with Jennie a couple weeks back. They are very red, and I already have two pairs of clogs that are quite similar. After wearing them all day, however, I have no regrets. They’re unbelievably comfortable considering their height!

I tried to jazz up an otherwise basic outfit  by tying up my blouse and adding a knotted head scarf to the mix. Oh… and, of course, loads of jewelry.

Speaking of jewelry, I think I need to make some additions to my collection soon. Any recommendations for kick-ass, affordable accessories?

*wearing: Imitation of Christ skinnies, Lucyd Acyd blouse, vintage knotted head scarf, Jeffrey Campbell platform sandals, St. Eve dangle bangle, misc. accessories

In 1928, John W. Nordstrom retired and sold his shares to two of his sons, Everett and Elmer. In 1929, Wallin also retired and sold his shares to them. The 1930 grand opening of the remodeled Second Avenue store marked the change of name to Nordstrom. -*.”

It’s nice to see that version of the platforms in red. It’s a good change. And you look amazing in that outfit. Really perfect.

So quicksaidthebird.wordpress.com is my Bay Area-based blog. If you go to the side bar and click on “Bay Area Designers” in the “What the What” sidebar (right) you’ll see all the posts I’ve done on local designers, many of them jewelry, all of them affordable.

Don’t take back the shoes! I love them! I love them! Just picked the up at the Nordstrom sale myself. They’re fantastically 70’s hippie.

Dear God, woman! Those clogs are amazing and I would have been very disappointed to hear that you returned them.

    A+!

They are totally hot (and not overwhelmingly so)- you made the right decision.

And everything else is fantastic as well- totally dig the minty digits.
