My favorite part about this outfit? I am pretty sure these boots actually were made for walking. I have also come to realize that a messenger-style caryall is a key to comfort in this city. Unexpectedly ended up strolling all over Chelsea, the West Village and SoHo yesterday — stopping in to eat, drink and shop sporadically along the way.

Now that I have a little bit of downtime, I’m excited to start exploring different neighborhoods, checking out museums, etc. Any favorite spots in New York I should visit? Would love your recommendations!

Oh and on a separate note, I started a Pinterest page (and am already completely hooked!). You can follow me here, if you’d like! :)

hey i live in noho in the city and a great place to go have a delicious snack would be the Little Cupcake Bakeshop. It’s so cute! They make the best sweets. They also have bunches of coffee and sodas. It’s a must see. I go there whenever I need a little treat . There is also great boutiques right around it too so great shopping.

When I first looked at your photos, I thought for a split second you were bare legged, and that you were insane! I adore this outfit either way, and more specifically, those boots.

Btw, maybe for a special occasion, go to Peasant. It’s cozy, and the food is delicious!

I love those boots and if they are made for walking I’ll take two then! It’s so hard to find cute shoes that are good for walking around in (well ones that won’t kill your feet)
Agreed about the messenger they are just more convenient for the city and I find they don’t feel as heavy when I’m walking around so much.
If you’re around Soho again and if you like Greek food there is a great place called Snack I heard great things about it and went there once it had great food! It’s super tiny there were like 3 tables but it was really good and the people that work there were really fun!
Hope you’re liking the city there are so many things to do you can never be bored.

I live in Cobble Hill in Brooklyn, and it’s an amazing neighborhood. So many gorgeous brownstones, and fun restaurants and bars. I HIGHLY recommend Clover Club on Smith St for some of the best cocktails in NY, and Colonie on Atlantic for an amazing meal and gorgeous decor. There are also some really fun antique stores along Atlantic if you’re into shabby chic or retro furniture. Ffloyd on Atlantic is the perfect dive bar with a whole lot of comfy couches, good drink deals and bocci ball! If I see you around I will say hello!

Nothing beats a comfortable pair of boots! These look amazing on you. At first I thought you forgot that you weren’t in SF anymore and left with bare legs! But then I saw the tights – are they sparkly??

    Laura Reply:

Thank you!! And yes, they are sparkly. :) Got them a couple years back at American Apparel, but I bet they still have something similar.
