“Life is filled with little pleasures.”

…or something along those lines. But the meaning in strong, despite the likelihood that my translation may be a bit off.

Perhaps it is the holiday season that is leaving me all warm and fuzzy, but I am feeling particularly grateful for my friends, family, and a break from the chaos. Realizing the importance of taking time for myself to explore and enjoy — see and absorb all of the beauty that surrounds me.

Being away for Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday, for the first time in 28 years was tough. And spending the holiday season overseas isn’t easy either, however I am so excited that my sister is arriving on Sunday! We will be spending a few days in Paris, and then traveling to Amsterdam, Prague, and Vienna, where we will spend Christmas with dear cousin and her amazing new groom.

I am so happy for the experiences I have had in Paris thus far and the wonderful people I have met – like Gweneal Serieys, who showed me this beautiful park, Belleville, a little haven on a hill not far from where I live. He also took these photos, and is a very talented photog and videographer — be sure to check out his work!

I am making an early New Years Resolution to get out more and see things, instead of allowing myself to get bogged down by work and stuck inside my apartment. Especially now that I have a new little visitor / enemy as a roommate…a mouse I’ve named “France”. C’est pas bien.

On that note, I also wanted to share a little guest post I did for a very neat company called Skout, which is the largest global app for meeting new people and expanding your social circle, anytime, anywhere. Based in SF, my old stomping grounds, I was honored when they asked me to weigh in on my style tips for making a great first impression in the 2016. Click here to check out the article! Hope you like the outfits that I picked — and, side note, some of them make for some pretty stellar gifts (like the Strathberry bag worn above or the OVERT NOHO which you may recall from previous posts).

*head to toe: Lucite glasses in pinkish-red, navy blue trench from W Concept (similar styles here), The Design Republik Cowl Neck OS Knit (best sweater ever), Strathberry MC Mini in Ruby, Coach Zip Pocket Leather Pants (more options here), Nicora Sally Shoes in gold
