Long overdue, but finally had a chance to go through the rest of my Miami Swim Week photos! Looking over these makes me want to go back ASAP. Such an awesome trip.

A huge thanks to the Bal Harbour Shops, the Sofitel Hotel, and Socialyte.co for making it an experience I’ll never forget! ♥

My favorite part about this outfit? I am pretty sure these boots actually were made for walking. I have also come to realize that a messenger-style caryall is a key to comfort in this city. Unexpectedly ended up strolling all over Chelsea, the West Village and SoHo yesterday — stopping in to eat, drink and shop sporadically along the way.

Now that I have a little bit of downtime, I’m excited to start exploring different neighborhoods, checking out museums, etc. Any favorite spots in New York I should visit? Would love your recommendations!

Oh and on a separate note, I started a Pinterest page (and am already completely hooked!). You can follow me here, if you’d like! :)

I am a big fan of the whole cropped pant thing lately — the fact this is a cropped jumpsuit really gets me pumped up. While this particular look doesn’t necessarily do the jumpsuit justice, it definitely made more sense to layer up with my coziest oversized sweater and a faux fur vest to seal the deal!

In other news, wow, this week really flew. It was eventful for a number of reasons — the main one being that it was my last with the company I’ve spent the past three years working for, Shop It To Me.

Such a bittersweet feeling. Excited to be living in a fantastic new city and for the opportunities it has and will continue to bring, but sad to end that chapter of my life. Huge thank you to my manager, all of my amazing colleagues, and the bloggers I’ve worked with along the way. I am a whole lot smarter, more fulfilled and inspired because of you!

I have some fun projects in the works that I am really looking forward to, but all in all this is the least planned out my future has ever been, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Kind of a crazy feeling to not know what’s coming next, but I guess that’s all just part of the adventure! You know what they say…if your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough. Well, here’s to a little bit of fear, a lot of freedom, and most importantly, following your dreams!

Been a long-time a fan of mixing and matching, but this editorial really sparked a whole new level of obsession with the trend. How rad are all of the different textures, prints, and colors?! Not to mentioned that messy pink hair. Oh. YES.

Some pieces that I am now officially inspired to buy…

“I don’t know where I’m going from here, but I promise it won’t be boring” – David Bowie

A few months back, Blake and I decided that we wanted to make a major life change. We have been talking about doing this for years, and every conversation always ended with “maybe in six months” or “after we save up a little more money”…there was always a good excuse to put it off. Finally, we sat down and came to the conclusion that while we’re young, we aren’t getting any younger, and this is something that will never be simple, cheap, or even comfortable. With that, our decision was made. We would pack up the life we’ve built here, throw caution to the wind, and move cross-country from San Francisco to another one of the greatest cities in the world, New York City.

San Francisco was the first place I lived after moving out of my parents’ house in Orange County at 17, and it’s since become home. Not only will I miss this city, but even more so the people that I have met along the way. Since starting OnTheRacks and being introduced into the San Francisco blogger community, I have made some incredible friends — many of whom will be a part of my life for years and years to come. And not only is it the people I have met here in the city, but also those of you who’ve read my blog, shared your comments, and supported me in my passion over the past two years, who have collectively given me the confidence to take this leap that I otherwise may have been too uncertain to take. I want to say thank you for that.

Tonight we’re flying out of SFO to begin the first leg of our journey, which will consist of three days running around Manhattan on a mission to find ourselves the perfect new home. Living in New York has always been a dream of mine so everything’s still a bit surreal, but I can’t wait to start this next chapter of my life with Blake and Lola on the East Coast! I’m also excited to share my adventures with you as I continue to blog, tweet, and instagram my way to and through the Big Apple. Thanks for following and stay tuned for updates as I adapt to life a new city, shake thinks up with my career, and welcome whatever exciting changes may come next.

♥ Laura

Nothing beats jersey.

Love lounging around in this dress…but if I’m going to wear it out, this thing clearly needs a little cinching. Threw on my Coach-purse-turned-fanny-pack as a finishing touch…my new favorite “belt” for sure.

Call me lazy, but let’s get real…it’s a million times more practical than a handbag.
