Christian Siriano RTW Fall 2010

Yesterday I attended the Christian Siriano runway show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Over the past few years he’s proven himself to be more than just a reality show contestant, building the well-deserved reputation of a fashion designer worthy of showing in Bryant Park.

Christian Siriano’s Fall 2010 Collection was inspired by 1960’s Parisian women. He brought to life the feminine ideal – the woman who wears “suits, coats, gloves, a great bag, signature shoes – culminating in an efortless, soft and romantic style”…a look that can go from day-to-night.

There were structured suits, flirty frocks, and gowns that could take your breath away. The music created an energy that had the crowd entranced.

The final look, a ruffled fuchsia gown, was adorned by a train that couldn’t have been short of 8 feet long. To borrow a term from the designer himself, absolutely FIERCE!
