“Actually, the best gift you could have given her was a lifetime of adventures.”
-Lewis Carroll // Alice in Wonderland
I recently had the pleasure of going on my second road trip with two of my closest, most inspiring friends, Grant and Olivia. A whirlwind journey we called “Destination Dixie”. The first time around, back in November, we weaved our way up the West Coast, stopping off in Los Angeles, San Louis Obispo, Big Sur, San Francisco, Brookings, and Portland.
This time it went a little something like this…
Austin >> Houston >> Baton Rouge >> New Orleans >> Smoky Mountains >> Nashville
One of the many factors that set this trip apart from the first one was that, thanks to Lincoln, we got to travel in STYLE…test driving their seriously sweet (and fully loaded) MKZ. It was quite the treat! The features were honestly kind of ridiculous – there was many a moment where I felt like an astronaut operating a space shuttle. So much fun.
It’s experiences like these that I live for. That have made me realize I don’t need to follow any specific path, and that I am the type of person who thrives in a creative setting. Thrives by surrounding myself with interesting and talented people. It is that feeling of not knowing what each new day will bring that makes my blood pump. That picks me up when I am down, keeping me optimistic and hopeful even when it feels like everything is falling apart.
I have never been more confused as to what my “purpose” is, but I do know that I am stretching my imagination, embracing uncertainty, building incredible memories, and writing a real life story. I am living…and, although at times it feels like a never-ending roller coaster, when it comes down to it, every single second and experience has been well worth it. So much laughter, so many tears, and conversations so meaningful you never want them to end.
