Quick stop in Paris after being in NYC for a few weeks, and I’ve headed off on a mini Eurotrip with my dear friends Emilia and Celine. First stop was Amsterdam, where I’d never been, and I fell head over heels (or should I say “socks over sweater”) in love with the city.
We had the pleasure of calling The Hoxton home for a few nights. Surrounded by canals, the beautiful boutique hotel only opened doors in Amsterdam a few months back, though they’ve already made a name for themselves in the UK — a result of two stellar London locations (I know where I will be staying next time I need my English fix).
The staff was beyond accommodating, and one of my favorite quirks (ambiance and perfect location aside) was the “market” concept they practice, in replacement of a traditional minibar…meaning you purchase sips and snacks from the front desk instead of taking them from the room. BUT they sell wine at true retail price, rather than jacking up prices out the ass. My kinda thang.
Part pleasure and part business, I was also able to meet face-to-face for the first time with an amazing client I have been working with for many months. If you are also a blogger, and you have yet to sign up for Cirqle, get on it by clicking here! Founded and built by a super smart and innovative team, Cirqle allows influencers to plug in their social channels and stats, sending out high-quality campaigns (and yes, I am actually talking top notch, here) that they can then apply to be a part of.
Companies can pick and choose who they work with based on real data, authentic follower engagement, and whether or not there is a genuine interest in the brand! As a blogger / marketer, I personally find their particular model to be spot on — and I have seen quite a few others trying to attempt something similar that don’t quite hold a candle. Bloggers, it is a great way to gain visibility and put your name out there in front of some of the world’s best brands, while at the same time being granted an opportunity to team up on some super enticing campaigns.
Just arrived in Berlin, another city I have never explored, and cannot wait to spend the next few days here…perfect timing, given that I was just speaking to my realization that there has been a missing piece in my life, that is a result of some strange refusal to feed my hunger for adventure. It’s experiences like this…seeing the world, and taking in new things, while surrounding myself with smart and inspiring people, and meeting interesting new ones, that keep my spirit alive.
